ODE Granat Viaduct Membrane

The ODE Granat GP 400 Viaduct Membrane is the long-lasting APP modified, plastomeric bitumen based waterproofing membrane coated on top with silica sand, used for waterproofing of viaduct, bridge, and railway decks. The carrier felt is positioned on top due to the rough nature of the underlying surface, thus ensuring that the lower section that will come into contact with the floor is thicker.

 

Its purpose is to protect the concrete used in artifacts such as viaduct, bridge, and railway decks from water and the harmful effects of water through waterproofing, thus extending the service life of these artifacts.

 

The harmful effects of water on concrete are:

  • The crumbling effect of water that has been absorbed by hairline cracks in concrete during the freezing and melting cycle of water,
  • The chemical effect of carbon dioxide which is due to the carbonation of cement which affects the mechanical characteristics of concrete,
  • The rusting effect on the iron fittings within the concrete which is due to carbonation and to the corrosive effect of the salt expelled during the winter.

 

ODE Granat GP 400 Viaduct Membrane resists these effects without degradation, extending the service life of the structure. ODE Granat GP 400 Viaduct Membrane contains polymer modified bitumen reinforced with high grammage non-woven polyester felt, coated on one side with silica sand, that is resistant to the temperature of asphalt application, and is TSE 11758-1 certified and conforms to the TS EN 14695 standard. The upper surface is coated with silica sand with a special particle size to ensure full adhesion to asphalt. ODE Granat GP 400 Viaduct Membrane is resistant to 150 °C which is the application temperature of asphalt.

ODE BITUMEN EMULSION

 

Used to prime surfaces before application of ODE membranes in applications on shear walls, foundations, and terrace roofs.

 

Application

 

The product is applied cold and it penetrates concrete surfaces. It can be applied using a bristle brush or roller after being mixed with approximately 20% water. It dries in approximately 4-5 hours depending on weather conditions. Should not be applied in wet weather and under temperatures of +5°C. The first layer should be allowed to dry completely before applying the second layer.
